Trinidad and Tobago's NewsdayPrisons Commissioner John Rougier has written to the North Central Regional Health Authority (NCRHA) requesting a report on an alleged beating of a patient at the Caura Chest Hospital last week, in which it was reported that three prisons officers had been called to the facility to beat up a patient.
Rougier told Newsday he learnt of the incident which had been highlighted in this newspaper yesterday and had asked prison officials to visit the Caura hospital to begin their own investigation.
