Early morning walker dies after accident in St James
Selma Grazette-Jones, of Husbands Gardens, St James, was killed after she was struck by a car while walking this morning near the Husbands Main Road/Husbands Crescent junction.
Preliminary police reports said Grazettes-Jones was in her 50’s while the driver of the car was a 19 year old St James resident."

Crazy Cotton Tree chopping!
The victim, Thaddeus Castillo, 21, a driver of #2520 Corner Mopan and Mahogany Streets, Belize City, had left the city on Sunday, July 24, to stay at an aunt’s house in Cotton Tree for the summer, along with two of his younger brothers.
The aunt, Martina Mercado, age unknown, is the sister of Castillo’s mother, Mrs. Desiree Hemsley.
Our newspaper visited the area in Cotton Tree, where it is said the deadly incident occurred. According to a resident of Cotton Tree, Castillo was chopped with a machete on a back street (the street has no name) in front of an open bushy lot, which is next to a mini-store."

Three more Fifa executives face questions
Judge Petrus Damaseb, the deputy-chairman of Fifa’s ethics commission, has asked Fifa secretary general Jerome Valcke to consider a new probe into some of those that attended the meeting in Trinidad on May 10th and 11th where the cash gifts were said to have been paid.
The three Fifa members who accompanied Bin Hammam on his private jet were Manilal Fernando from Sri Lanka, Worawi Makudi from Thailand and Hany Abo Rida from Egypt. All three have told investigators they did not see cash gifts being offered, nor was there any talk of that taking place."

Teen girl held for brother's killing
Dead is Oshane Gray from Blackwood Terrace, St Andrew.
Information reaching THE STAR suggests that Gray was stabbed in the left shoulder during a dispute in the wee hours of the morning.
Gray was then assisted to the nearby Vanford Medical Centre on Pennant Terrace in an attempt to save his life.
A witness told THE STAR that when Gray reached the centre, he was barely conscious and seemed as if he was desperately hanging on to life as he seemed weak and had to be held upright by a group of persons who took him to the doctor.
The police were summoned by the doctor and Gray was reportedly transferred to the Accident and Emergency department at the Kingston Public Hospital where he later died."

The attorney general, Eric T. Schneiderman, said the five schools, in Brooklyn, in Queens and on Long Island, bilked students of $6 million. Prosecutors say some of the schools even coordinated with a nursing program in Jamaica to provide false documents.

Baby dies in bizarre incident
Dwayne Banzi's body was taken from an abandoned motor car next to the house where he resided with his father.
Reports are that about 3:40 p.m.on Saturday, a passer-by observed both children laying motionless inside the vehicle. The man opened the door of the vehicle, took the body of Banzi and his older sibling from it.
They were taken to a nearby medical facility where it was revealed that the baby died.

Rape accused doctor still in custody
Police officials confirmed that he was still being questioned but it is unclear whether he will be charged.
The teen, who is from a Berbice community, has told Welfare officials that the physician had penetrative sex with her twice. The first incident allegedly occurred late last year.

Caught on camera-- City store robbery
Thieves were caught on camera in the wee hours of the morning in a small boutique in the City of Castries.
The boutique houses a barbershop, nail parlor, salon and boutique.
The thieves made out with several items including clothes, shoes, a plasma TV and a surround sound stereo system. The boutique owner- who is a foreign national says this is the fourth break in at the store in past three months.

Man arrested in Calgary extradited to Barbados over murder cases

'Terror' as woman shot outside Swinging Doors
A 26-year-old woman was shot and – according to witnesses - a man was grazed with a bullet at 11:28pm.
One man who witnessed the shooting said: “It was so scary.
“I was sitting outside and had to duck behind a car.
“A bullet whizzed cross my ear and grazed a guy.”
The witness said he thinks he heard six or seven shots.
“But after four shots, I stopped counting,” he added.
As for the shooter, the man said a bike rode across Swinging Doors towards Till’s Hill then turned around.
“Someone said, ‘We need to check out that bike,’ jokingly.
“Then the guy turned around and started shooting.”"

5 FEMALE STUDENTS FONDLED? - Teacher charged with indecent assault
The 30-year-old teacher has been slapped with five counts of indecent assault.
The Star was informed that the man was taken in by his attorney Earl Hamilton on Sunday. His charges, THE STAR learnt, arose from a series of incidents that reportedly started in January this year. He was said to have fondled the student's breasts.
The last incident reportedly occurred in June while a party was being held at the school."

Local police received information on June 21 that Damian Lecoursey Reveira, 25, could be in Calgary.
Calgary police arrested him without incident.
It's thought he's been in town since last October.
'We believe he has associates here,' said southern Alberta integrated fugitive apprehension unit Staff Sgt. Todd Zelensky.
Zelensky said it took the efforts of the Royal Barbados Police Force, border officials and Interpol to apprehend Reveira."
