Kaieteur News: "Magistarate Haymant Ramdhani presiding at the Cove and John Magistrate’s Court on Friday issued an arrest warrant for former Judge, Jainarine Singh Jr. after he failed to attend court on several traffic charges.
The former judge was charged last week with several traffic violations, stemming from an accident last Tuesday night at Clonbrook , East Coast Demerara.
Following the accident, Singh was arrested after police suspected that he was under the influence of alcohol.
However, according to a senior official at the C Division Headquarters, he refused to submit to the breathaliser test and was later sent on self bail.
Charges were instituted against him for breach of insurance, unlicenced and uncertified motor vehicle and failure to submit to the breathaliser test.
Singh failed to turn up for his day in court, hence the arrest warrant.
