St George family mourns stabbing victim

Barbados Today : "A Lower Estate, St George, home has been thrown into mourning following the brutal slaying last night of one of their own at the Zanzi Bar Club on Nelson Street, the City. Forty-three- year old Christopher Callender, who was employed as a part-time bouncer at the Club, was stabbed multiple times about the body and his throat was slit by an unknown assailant while on duty around 11:00 p.m. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) where he died during surgery."

Wanted man shot dead

 Barbados Today : "According to reports, Leacock tried to run away from his attackers. However, they caught him and dragged him away as he tried to seek refuge at a nearby house, before shooting him several times."

Charged

Barbados Today : "Eight days after primary school teacher Dwight Holder was gunned down while visiting relatives at Bedford Lane, Bush Hall, St Michael, six men are set to face the law courts tomorrow on charges in connection with his death."

Shootings and stabbing mar Grand Kadooment

Barbados Today : "Despite calls from police for an incident free Grand Kadooment, three men had to be rushed for medical attention after two shootings and a stabbing incident took place during today’s festivities. Police public relations officer Acting Assistant Superintendent David Welch told  Barbados TODAY that around 1:40 p.m. a 28-year-old St Michael man was stabbed several times at Eastmond Corner, St Michael."

Nurse poisoned at NA hospital; colleagues under investigation

INews Guyana : "Twenty – four – year old Tameca Carter of Fort Ordnance on Wednesday, July 29 left a bottle of soda in the ‘ward five’ refrigerator before attending a funeral service. When Carter returned, she consumed a mouthful of the beverage and immediately felt a burning sensation in her stomach. Hospital sources stated that not long after, the nurse collapsed and was admitted into the ICU where she began vomiting blood. Doctors tending to Carter confirmed that she was poisoned but it is unclear what type of poison was place in the drink."
