Kaieteur News: "Government is yet to pay millions of dollars owed to the Guyana Elections Commission—GECOM —for contractual services that were procured by the entity in preparations for Local Government Election.
One Berbician said that she provided catering services to GECOM, and is owed $300,000 over several months, and is in need for her money. Several persons who provided catering services to GECOM are yet to be paid, along with contracted drivers who were paraded in the media are appealing to the relevant authorities to delve into their matter since they allege that they worked for months and have also not received any payment to date.
