video--Not a hate crime says tourism officials...


Three visitors who were robbed while on vacation in Soufriere have characterized the crime as one of hate based on their homosexuality.
They have since attempted to publicize the incident along those lines in one of the country's largest source markets -- the Soufriere But it is a label tourism officials in Saint Lucia have rejected. They say Saint Lucia is open to all visitors regardless of sexual orientation. Further -- the incident -- while tragic was motivated by greed and not discrimination based on sexual preference.
