More rains, more damage

The Vincentian : "Even as clean-up measures are still taking place frantically in some parts of St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Roxtanne Marshall-Millington, Communications Officer with the Building Roads and General Service Authority (BRAGSA) is warning citizens to look for “secondary slides.”

Her warning comes in the wake of heavy rains associated with tropical storm Emily which, though veering northwards, unleashed its force on St. Vincent and the Grenadines over the August Monday Weekend (July 30- August 1).

Roads were made impassable by landslides; rivers overflowed their banks; trees lining roadways tumbled; tree crops suffered; some houses fell under the force of gushing water, combining to set the country back into a tail-spin of some confusion and setback."
