COMMERCIAL banks in Barbados have continued to do well.
Results on their operations in 2005 revealed combined net profits of $139 million, the most the banks have ever made in Barbados. This amount represents a six per cent increase on the 2004 net profits of $132.2 million.
The story of their performance is contained in the 2005 Pricewaterhouse-Coopers (PWC) Banking Industry Highlights.
The six commercial banks covered in the report are Bank of Nova Scotia, Barbados National Bank, Butterfield Bank, First-Caribbean International, RBTT Bank and Royal Bank of Canada. "
