The Trinidad Guardian -Crackdown on slack doctors

The Trinidad Guardian -: "Frequent complaints from the public, including some doctors’ failure to remove “material” from patients before suturing them up after operation, prompted the Government to amend the Medical Board Act, Health Minister John Rahael said yesterday.
Rahael made the point in the Senate while piloting the amendment to Chapter 29:50 of the legislation. The bill carries a $10,000 fine plus two years’ jail for people who purport to be medical “specialists” but who are not genuine medical personnel. "
