The other case is related to a land deal carried out by Southern Developers Ltd in which acres of crown land in the Cades Bay area were purchased at concessionary rates. In both instances, Bird and other defendants are asking the appeals court to overrule an earlier High Court decision that the cases could go forward, effectively dismissing the cases filed against them."
