International conservation agency asks Turks and Caicos government to halt dolphinarium
PROVIDENCIALES, Turks and Caicos Islands: An international charity organisation dedicated to the conservation of dolphins, whales and porpoises has written to the Governor and the government of the Turks and Caicos Islands (TCI), asking them to put a stop to the proposed plan to build a dolphinarium in that country.
The Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society (WDCS), which has global accreditation on the issue of dolphin and other cetacean captivity, has been in existence for over 20 years and Captivity Programme Manager, Cathy Williamson of its UK office, said that the organisation was gravely concerned by the TCI government’s proposal.
