UNDER SCRUTINY: The reality of crime

The Barbados Advocate: "I DON’T, and Barbadians must not, take any comfort in the fact that, according to Commission-er of Police Darwin Dottin, Barbados’ “homicide rate remains one of the lowest in the region”.

Statistics do not always reflect the reality of the crime situation. What scares me most is that though the Commissioner finds solace in this statistic, the reality is that the actual number of unsolved murders is unacceptable in this small society of ours."
