Dominica police destroy 250,000 marijuana plants

Taiwan News Online: "Police on the tiny Caribbean island of Dominica say they have destroyed 250,000 marijuana plants on a property they discovered by chance.

Police spokesman Christopher Laville says officers happened to come across the 3.5-acre (1.4-hectare) property while patrolling in the northern region.

The plants were found on Thursday. No one has been arrested.

Laville said Friday that police recently increased sea and land patrols to combat drug trafficking."
