PNM beats TOP in THA election

Trinidad and Tobago's Newsday : newsday.co.tt :: "THE People’s National Movement (PNM) last night retained control of the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) by winning eight of the 12 contested seats. The remaining four seats went to the opposition Tobago Organisation of the People (TOP).

The results indicate we will retain control of the Assembly... the problem is we have lost some seats, but we have been given a clear mandate to carry out our plans for the people of Tobago,” THA leader Orville London said. A notable absentee from the celebrations was Prime Minister Patrick Manning, who decided to skip the election altogether."
