I am deeply saddened by this news. Dr. Bennett delivered my third son and she was the most amazing woman/doctor that I ever had the privilege of knowing. She will be missed. May she rest in peace.

I knew Trona in the early 1980s when she lived in T&T. When I got pregnant, the circumstances were less that desirable, Trona offered her professional services free of charge. Regrettably, I lost touch with her when she left T&T for another island, both she and her husband were concerned about the crime situation in T&T and the effect it would have on their children.

Trona was not only 'good people' she was the best!

I was a patient of hers in 1983. She was young, beautiful and in my opinion an excellent doctor.
I lost touch with her when she migrated. I was shocked when I saw the news on the front page of the Trinidad Guardian today. My condolences to her family.

DR. Bennett was my doctor in 2006 when I found out suprisingly that I was pregnant while visiting St. Lucia, she diagnosed and monitered my pregnancy for the first three months and offerred re-assurance when I had complications. When I returned home to Canada and delivered a beautiful baby girl in June 2007 I always remembered her as the reason why I was able to survive the first few months of pregnancy in a foreighn country....Just the week before ehr death,I was in St. Lucia and said to myself a few days before returning home that I should bring my daughter there to meet her, unfortunately I was not able to fit it in to my schedule and now upon hearing the news I am truly shocked and saddened that I didn't. Rest in Peace Dr. Bennett so sorry that this happened to you and your family.

I was deeply saddened to hear of her tragic death. I know she will be missed by family , friends and collegues alike.

I was following Dr. Trona Bennett medical journey. She was part of a wonderful team working on teaching advanced laparoscopy to the Eastern Caribbean and surrounding area Doctors. She was working on a February 2009 Phase III project to train more doctors. Many wonderful photos and updates about her wonderful work on this project/mission are at the following urls: http://www.lapscope.com/laparoscopy/caribbean_stlucia.htm and In Memory of Dr. Bennett http://www.lapscope.com/laparoscopy/tragedy_dr_trona_bennett.htm
