NOMINATION DAY…Candidates commit their names to electoral process today

Antigua Sun: "Over 50 candidates are expected to be nominated today to contest the 12 March general elections in Antigua and Barbuda.

At the end of the period, which runs from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m., in all the 17 constituencies, the electorate in the country will officially know the contending candidates in the 2009 general elections.

Just about 16 candidates from the United Progressive Party (UPP), 17 from the opposition Antigua Labour Party (ALP), one from the Barbuda People’s Movement (BPM), four from the Organisation of National Development (OND) and approximately four independent candidates are expected to be nominated today."
