Antigua Sun: "Nurses at the Mount St. John Medical Centre (MSJMC) are stressed, grossly overworked and at breaking point with a management that continues to ignore their complaints.
They are also accusing management of reneging on agreements that were made before the transition from the Holberton Hospital to the state-of-the-art medical centre. Additionally, the nurses feel that there is nobody to talk to about their grievances.
The list of grievances surrounding salaries, working schedules and the very status of nurses and nursing assistants, is growing and affecting morale at the institution where the only thing preventing workers from striking is the potential that lives may be lost if such action were taken."
