Antigua Sun : "The opposition Antigua Labour Party (ALP) issued a statement yesterday strongly condemning the dismissal of an assistant commissioner of police who reportedly failed to take appropriate actions during the Labour Day fiasco.
The ALP believes that the decision to relieve the officer from his duties allegedly without an investigation is a flagrant violation of his rights.
In a statement issued on 6 May, Minister of National Security Dr. Errol Cort declared that the assistant commissioner and other police officers failed to take appropriate action in accordance with agreed plans and procedures at an Antigua Trades and Labour Union (AT&LU) Labour Day rally."
