Kaieteur News: "A 40-year old Costello Housing scheme resident was up to late last night undergoing emergency surgery at the Georgetown Hospital to remove a bullet from his abdomen.
The victim, identified as Wayne Richie, was shot at around 21:00 hours by a man who eyewitness said he was familiar with.
According to reports, Richie was with some of his friends when a man came up with a black plastic bag in his hand and called him away.
There was what appeared to be an argument and Richie attempted to walk away.
However, the man became annoyed and called out angrily to Richie.
As Richie turned around to respond, a gunshot rang out."
