Policeman jailed

Trinidad and Tobago's Newsday "POLICEMAN Dale Ramcharan’s job was to uphold the law, protect the innocent and put lawbreakers behind bars. Yesterday, he was sentenced by a High Court judge to two years imprisonment with hard labour after being found guilty of receiving a stolen vehicle.

The 32-year-old father of one, of Dinsley in Tacarigua, was also ordered to pay Carol Soobhanath $17,500 in compensation for the stolen car. The punishment was handed down by Justice Prakash Moosai in the Port-of-Spain Third Criminal Court."
