Guyana warns of blackouts, awaits new generators

Taiwan News Online: "The South American country of Guyana is warning residents to brace for more rolling blackouts until three new generators arrive next month from Finland.

Guyana Power & Light Chairman Mike Brassington says the generators will add more than 20 megawatts of power to the city and coastal grid. He says housing developments are being built faster than the company can keep pace.

He said Saturday that 'the situation is about to get a little worse before it actually gets better.'"
