Buju waives right to bail hearing

JamaicaObserver.com: "JAMAICAN reggae artiste Mark Myrie, who is better known by his stage name Buju Banton, yesterday waived his right to a bail hearing when he appeared before US Magistrate William Turnoff in the Miami Federal Court yesterday.
Turnoff then issued a temporary order of detention.
Banton, along with Ian Thomas, also called 'Yush' and Jason Mack, were held last Thursday by Drug Enforcement Administration agents and slapped with charges of possession with intent to distribute five or more kilograms of cocaine.
The Jamaican reggae singer, who was only recently nominated for a Grammy Award, will have his case heard in Tampa, Florida where the offence allegedly occurred. No date has yet been set for the hearing."
