This, according to United States officials, was one example of the chaos and confusion that reigned at the Haiti International Airport after the devastating earthquake.
Charg�d'Affaires of the United States Embassy to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean, D. Brent Hardt, told the DAILY NATION yesterday that the Americans were not 'controlling' the show in Haiti because they wanted to; they simply had no option but to try to regain some sense of order at the airport.
He added that shortly after the devastating 7.0 magnitude earthquake that rocked that country last Tuesday, the situation became 'untenable'."
