Revolt At Detention Centre

The Bahama Journal "The shooting happened around 1:00 p.m.

However, the detainee was shot by a rubber bullet. His condition is not life threatening.

According to official police reports, Defence Force personnel at the Detention Centre were providing meals to the Cuban detainees when a Cuban man attempted to jump the line.

Police officials said the detainee was instructed to go to the back of the line and wait his turn.

At that point he said 'If I don’t get my meal, I will cause trouble.'

Police said the man then left and began shaking the fence in a 'violent manner.'"
