Six murders strike TT in 24 hours

Trinidad and Tobago's Newsday "A Gonzales man was yesterday shot and killed in full view of his family by three armed men who broke into his home.

Sherwin “Popey”Holder, 37, of Circular Road, Gonzales, was one of five murders between the period over Friday night and Saturday.

He is also one of six men killed in 24 hours, starting Thursday night. The murder toll for the year now stands at 159.

The killings started just mere hours after 500 police officers were promoted to the rank of corporal. They are expected to be kept busy with the latest spate of killings."
