Trinidad Express "Prime Minister Kamla Persad-Bissessar has instructed her National Security Minister, John Sandy, that his first act be to provide security for former prime minister Patrick Manning.
Speaking shortly after the oath-taking ceremony for ministers, ministers of State and parliamentary secretaries at Knowsley House, Port of Spain, yesterday, Persad-Bissessar said her directive to Sandy was not a reaction to events at Balisier House on Thursday evening when Manning faced a hostile reception from an angry crowd of People’s National Movement (PNM) supporters and had to be assisted by officers of the Guard and Emergency Branch (GEB)."
