Barbados will not engage in war of words with Jamaica over REDjet – acting PM

Stabroek News - Guyana: "(Barbados Nation) Barbados will not engage in a war of words with Jamaican Prime Minister Bruce Golding over low-budget airline REDjet or use tit-for-tat tactics to get the carrier to fly to the neighbouring island.

Acting Prime Minister Ronald Jones stated Government’s position yesterday, after Golding said Jamaica would not be “bullied” into allowing the Barbados-based airline to fly there.

Jones said Barbados would not be engaging in any “robust language” – although Golding had used some – as it tries to resolve REDjet’s problems. There was “no need to fight” over the Caribbean travel market, according to Jones."
