Antigua Observer Newspaper "Opposition Antigua Labour Party (ALP) leader Lester Bird yesterday expressed strong objections to government’s plan to have the Financial Services Regulatory Commission (FSRC) investigate a claim recently published by Euromoney magazine in which Antigua & Barbuda was listed as the worst Caribbean country to put money in.
Bird, in his weekly address, said it would be a conflict of interest for the FSRC to conduct the enquiry since it has a vested interest in the matter. Instead, he said government ought to set up an independent body to do so."
