Bird Calls FSRC Probe Conflict Of Interest

Antigua Observer Newspaper "Opposition Antigua Labour Party (ALP) leader Lester Bird yesterday expressed strong objections to government’s plan to have the Financial Services Regulatory Commission (FSRC) investigate a claim recently published by Euromoney magazine in which Antigua & Barbuda was listed as the worst Caribbean country to put money in.
Bird, in his weekly address, said it would be a conflict of interest for the FSRC to conduct the enquiry since it has a vested interest in the matter. Instead, he said government ought to set up an independent body to do so."
