Antigua Observer Newspaper "CASTRIES, St.Lucia, CMC – In his first major statement on the controversial Jack Grynberg affair, Prime Minister Stephenson King told St Lucians late Thursday that “alarming new details” have come to light and accused his predecessor in office of deliberately keeping the oil exploration deal a secret.
King said in a 20-minute broadcast address that not even members of Dr. Kenny Anthony’s cabinet knew of the deal to explore St Lucia’s offshore oil deposits.
He added that he was now even more concerned that a court injunction filed on behalf of Dr. Anthony aimed, as he put it, to further conceal the truth.
The Prime Minister made a veiled appeal to the Leader of the Opposition to help his administration unravel the controversial exclusive arrangement with the Colorado oil and gas tycoon to explore for oil in St. Lucian waters."
