JamaicaObserver.com: A wide cross-section of Jamaicans, including a government senator and an Opposition member of parliament, have given support for a social media campaign calling for Jamaicans to wear black tomorrow to protest against exorbitant electricity bills from the Jamaica Public Service (JPS).
The campaign, which began on the BlackBerry messenger service and Facebook — dubbed JPS Black Out Fridays — is gaining traction as the Government mulls over setting up a commission of enquiry to probe high electricity bills that have been crippling consumers.
