Trinidad and Tobago's Newsday "THE Police Service Commission (PSC) yesterday signalled its intention to write Commissioner of Police Dwayne Gibbs and his fellow Canadian-born Deputy Police Commissioner Jack Ewatski for an explanation as to why they were absent at the time a state of emergency was imposed. In their absence, deputy Commissioner Stephen Williams has marshaled the Police Service.
Commissioner Gibbs who was in Brazil attending a conference returned home at about 1.30 pm yesterday and is due to resume official duties today. Calls to his cellphone proved futile. Ewatski is on vacation leave and is back in his native Canada. This leave ends next Tuesday. "
